The two pumps originally have Head, the way of series connection is equivalent to adding up the heads of two pumps to achieve the purpose of long-distance transportation.

Some of the customers who choose this configuration method are that a single pump can complete the transportation task at the beginning, but later the environment changes, the transportation distance is longer or the height difference between the water surface and the pipeline outlet increases, and the requirements for the pump head also increase. up. At this time, the user does not want to replace the equipment in use, so he has to add a sand pump behind to complete the transportation task. The added pump may or may not be the same model and specification as the previous pump.

There are also some customers whose transportation distance is too long or the height difference is very large. It is difficult to choose a high-lift sand pump to complete the transportation, and it can only be completed by adding a booster pump. This method is generally used in situations where the conveying distance is several kilometers or the height difference is tens of meters.

For users who have used the booster pump, they will all find a problem. The second pump wears out faster than the first pump, and the service life of the accessories is shorter. What is the reason for this? During the use of the second pump, the NPSH is larger. After the NPSH is larger, the wear on the pump will be greater, and the service life of the accessories will be shorter.

How to reduce the NPSH of the two sand pumps?

The models of the two pumps in the front and rear relays should be as consistent as possible, so that the flow rate of the two pumps is the same, and the NPSH of the second pump will be small.

Second, the position of the second pump should be placed as far as possible from the first pump. The so-called farthest is relative. The delivery of a single pump has a suitable delivery distance, which is the suitable distance under the same flow rate and lift. Try to place the second pump as close to this distance as possible, so that the NPSH it receives will be much smaller. Life will be longer.

For the pump type with a single pump head of 10 meters, if the distance is a little farther or the height difference is a little bigger, one pump will not work, and a relay is needed. In this case, it is best to choose a pump with a slightly larger head and deliver it at one time. Direct delivery by a single pump is lower in cost and failure rate than relay delivery by two pumps. Under normal circumstances, the horizontal sand pump can be transported by a single pump at a height difference of 40-50 meters or a transportation distance of several hundred meters to 1km. That is to say, if you can transport with one pump, you will not choose 2 pumps.
